Icon Request Fest

requests.
* Everyone can make requests, but keep every request to one series/character/pairing, with a maximum of ten images per request. You can also ask for quote icons, in which case you'd supply quotes instead of images, but keep in mind that the maker only has 100x100 pixels to work with.
* Preferably supply high-quality or medium-quality images, whole pages or a single panel, your choice. You can find plenty of panels by looking at the tags at [community profile] scans_daily, several other sites offer previews of most comics so plenty of icon material to be found there(ComicBookResources, IGN, etc, plus any publishing house site usually has preview pages). As always, google is your friend, especially when it comes to those shiny cover images without text on them. This makes it easier on the icon makers, and also you get to choose exactly what you want iconned :D
* imgur is a good option if you have something to upload. Link to the images instead of embedding them, to cut down on loading time.
* You can make requests without filling prompts.
* Warning for overly sexual/violent images would be appreciated.
* Requests should have a clear subject line, f.exa. Young Avengers | Saga, Marko/Alana | Character, Tony Stark | Quotes, Hawkeye(brobrobrobrobrobro. seeeeriously.).
* All icons will be sharable.

fills.
* Comment to the request thread with the subject line request filled.
* Several makers may fill the same request.
* Partial fills are more than welcome.

Signal boosts would be appreciated :)

The request fest starts today, and ends on Sunday September 8th. After that requests can still be filled, but not made.

closed.
Requests can still be filled.

I'm trying to think of a moment between Apollo and Midnighter I really liked, but the only one that sticks in my mind is from the last issue of Warren Ellis's run on The Authority, which is way back in 1992 or something.

There's probably a panel from the latest Authority iteration, the Abnett/Lanning one, but unfortunately I can't remember individual panels. :(

You could make me a Rogue/Magneto icon from the X-Men if you like. I always loved that pairing (though from what I've seen it appears to provoke a similar amount of fan outrage as Spuffy does). Again, I can't remember individual issue nos, but there might have been some nice ones in the final issue of X-Men Legacy (this the pre-Marvel Now title, about Rogue, not the current book of that name about David Haller).

Or, or you could make me an Americans icon, if you like. I loved that show.

That's probably too vague, isn't it?

Oh, wow! That's what the French call an embarras de richesse (probably spelt wrong).

Thanks so much. I'm having trouble getting those Americans caps to load so I'll have to get back to you on that one. As for the others, I love the first Rogue/Magneto one, and the two of Apollo and Midnighter kissing. Your first and third Apollo/Midnighter links, I think (I've 'shipped them since '92 as well). I also love the one of Apollo flying and Midnighter riding on his back. Ahem!

OK! Here are some icons for you.

Thank you for introducing me to Apollo/Midnighter. I had never heard of them before. They were a lot of fun to iconize. :)

Oh, wow! I absolutely love them all. I can't choose a favourite. Thank you so much!

And yay! for introducing you to Apollo and Midnighter. They weren't the very first out gay characters in superhero comics (that was Northstar of Alpha Flight, I think), but they are the first to kiss on the page. That was in 1993 at the end of Warren Ellis's run on the Wildstorm title, The Authority (to understand which, you'd probably need to read his run on the parent title Stormwatch too).

I don't know how they'd read otherwise so many years later, but Apollo and Midnighter bowled me over.

I loved the recent Abnett and Lanning run on the title too, from which the last of the above icons comes. In fact, it's the last panel.
